Mike Schultz NRP, FP-C
Founder/Owner, Instructor
Mike has served as a Critical Care Paramedic in Iowa since 2011. His interest in EMS began after enlisting in the Iowa Army National Guard as a 68W Combat Medic in 2009. After returning from military training, he enrolled in Mercy College of Health Science’s Paramedic Specialist program which he graduated from in 2011. He has worked throughout central Iowa at various EMS agencies responding to 911 and interfacility critical care transfers since 2011. He was hired as a full-time Flight Paramedic with MercyOne Air Med in 2018 and has since become the Clinical Educator for the flight team and ground ambulance. Mike’s passion for educating extends beyond his job with Air Med. He served as the lead instructor for DMACC’s Critical Care Paramedic course, served as an instructor at Camp Dodge’s Regional Training Center (RTI) as a combat medic instructor, as well as instructing at Camp Dodge’s Medical Simulations Training Center (MSTC).
Mike continues serving in the Iowa Army National Guard as a Flight Medic (68WF2) and non-rated crewmember flight Instructor (FI) with Det 1 C Co. 2/211th GSAB MEDEVAC. Since enlisting he has deployed twice to Afghanistan, in 2013 as a platoon medic with a combat engineer company performing route clearance/counter IED operations, and in 2017-2018 as a flight medic.
